Ethnomusicology Recording Archives


The University of Washington Ethnomusicology Archives houses a collection of unpublished recordings representing musical traditions from many areas of the world. Founded in 1962, the collection contains field recordings in a variety of audio and visual formats, in addition to other research documentation.

Recordings have been deposited by faculty members, graduate students, and other scholars. New collections are added each year, including field recordings, live concert recordings, and films and videos of a variety of musical events.
