Pharmacotherapeutic Course Guides

Advanced pharmacotherapeutics in the Joint External Doctor of Pharmacy Program is divided into nine seperate modules. Each module consists of two parts. One is a self-study component that is designed to assist students in improving their knowledge in pharmacotherapy and the other is a two-day weekend workshop which emphasizes the integration and utilization of knowledge of drug therapy in professional practice. Students must demonstrate mastery of the knowledge component before attending the workshop.

Each module examination is designed to be a two-hour, open-book/open-note test. You can bring anything into the exam except a method to communicate (computer, phone, etc). You can bring notes, but if they are written in ink they will be retained and destroyed--we do not want students to write down questions as they leave the exam (photocopies are okay).

The format of each exam is dependent on the instructor and varies from a long answer exam with only a few cases, to multiple choice & short answer exams with many questions. The exams stress the student to complete the exam within the two-hour time period, so plan to move through them quickly, but thoughtfully. You are on your honor to not reveal the contents of this exam to anyone.

You may find the instructions & forms for obtaining a proctor for the module exams here:
