"The Willows", a new transitional housing facility for families in
the Parent-Child Assistance Program (PCAP), opened its doors in Seattle's
White Center neighborhood on May 2, 2005. The new home will serve the
region's most vulnerable citizens: single mothers with co-occurring
disorders of mental illness and chemical dependency and their children.
Developed in partnership with the Community Psychiatric Clinic (CPC), The
Willows will be a vital resource for 15 PCAP families during their
recovery process, and will offer substantially increased opportunities to
help families move toward stability and self-sufficiency. CPC received
over $3 million in capital and service grants to develop and sustain The
Willows, which will be owned and operated by CPC with PCAP serving as a
referral source and providing case management services to support
residents.
