Through the Healing Circle; an innovative series on Fetal Alcohol
Syndrome (2000)
Produced by the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services
(DSHS)
A partnership of Washington State agencies, health-care experts,
and traditional Northwest tribal storytellers has produced a
collection of stories, health tips, and practical knowledge to help
parents and foster parents learn about Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and
understand how it affects their children.
"Journey Through the Healing Circle" is now available to parents,
schools, and other social service agencies as a series of videotapes,
video CDs, and professionally illustrated workbooks.
Although items can be ordered induividually, the whole set (4
books, 2 tapes, 4 CDs, 2 posters) is available for only $60.00

Ka:nen Our Children Our Future;
In 1995, the Aboriginal member organizations formed the corporation Ka:nen
Our Children Our Future to be able to take on Provincial-wide initiatives
like the Aboriginal Community Action Program for Children (CAPC) and the
Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program (CPNP).
A Mother's
Choice- an FAS/FAE prevention video, in which native moms (who have
FAS/FAE children) tell their stories and in so doing deliver powerful
prevention messages. This video was produced with native health experts as
well as leading FAS doctors and counsellors. The half-hour show sells for
