The focus of the 2008 Conference, hosted by the University of Washington, is the integration of science, policy, and law as they apply to fisheries and marine ecoystem issues. This conference also seeks to connect the researchers and decision-makers of tomorrow, fostering increased understanding and collaboration across disciplines and enhancing understanding within our own disciplines to address marine and coastal issues. We welcome presentation submissions from all disciplines that enhance our understanding and management of ocean and coastal resources. Please be aware that conference attendance is limited to students currently enrolled in a graduate level (Master's or PhD) program.

And Again...

More schools
It looks like our new distance champion is from the Rosentiel School at the University of Miami! We've also had our first registrations from the University of Connecticut, who would have been distance champ if not for U Miami, and the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. There is still plenty of time for everyone to register and submit presentations/poster, just make sure to get it done by Friday, March 7.

No Takers for Scholarships?
I just want to remind everyone to take a look at the scholarships section on the registration page. As of today, we have not had any scholarship applications! Given the interest from students in Alaska, the Mid-West and the East Coast, I would strongly recommend that people with some distance to cover apply now to get cheap tickets.

More schools and scholarships!
Apparently fixing the site made a big difference! Registration has increased dramatically and we have a new distance champ with Occidental College in LA now represented. Reminder that the conference can only handle 100 students so sign up soon! Also, a new scholarship is available for thos studying cross-border issues; see the registration page for more information. New Schools and Registration Page Fix
Thanks to everyone who reported the problem with the registration page! Please let us know if you experience any difficulties with any part of the webpage. Also, we now have confirmed particpation from several more schools including UCSB - Bren School, Simon Fraser University, and Oregon State's College of Oceanic and Atmospheric Sciences. Right now UCSB is the winner for greatest distance, but we look forward to hearing from schools even farther away! January 18 2008, 11:28 AM
Ready to go!
