FAMED 688: Family Medicine Sub-Internship
UW Student Registration Protocol

Please follow these steps to register for a sub-internship in family medicine:

1. Register for the sub-I, as with any other course, during your scheduling appointment with the dean’s office.
2. If, after the schedules are released, you decide that you would like to do a sub-I, please visit the network’s program overview page. Choose the program in which you are interested, then contact the program directly by using the contact information listed at the bottom of each residency description page.
3. Obtain agreement including the dates of the Sub-I from the program in the form of an e-mail that can be forwarded to Lisa Balloun at lballoun@fammed.washington.edu.
4. When you have permission from the program and the department, you can register for the course.
5. If you decide to drop the course, you must obtain permission from the Department of Family Medicine. You may be required to find a replacement.
