Faculty Development Workshops
Each year the Network's education committee plans a series of faculty development workshops around topics suggested by program faculty members. Workshops are either one or two days in duration, and are typically held in the Seattle area. Faculty at our affiliated residency programs are invited to attend, as are clinical faculty members who precept, pre-doctoral students or residents. If room is available, registration is extended to community physicians who are not actively working with WWAMI sites, but have an interest in a particular workshop's content. Our annual offerings are a Chief Resident conference, an EBM/Clinical Scholarship course, and a Collaborative Care conference on a topic of interest to both physicians and behavioral scientists. For the last several years we have worked to collaborate ALSO courses using shared equipment to ensure all programs have access to both ALSO training and a sufficient number of ALSO instructors.
Director Development Sessions
The Education Committee is also responsible for planning regular Director Development sessions. These sessions are held in conjunction with quarterly Directors meetings and concern topics of mutual concern to directors, such as funding of residency education, future of Family Medicine, insurance coverage/risk
