The exam will test your ability to use the information provided in the required readings, videos and online learning modules from all parts of the curriculum in caring for eight hypothetical patients.

Exam Details
• The exam is administered on Tuesday of week six of the clerkship at noon Pacific Time.
• You will be allotted four hours to complete eight patient care scenarios.
• You will be presented with the subjective and objective portions of a clinical note for eight hypothetical patients.
• You will synthesize an assessment and plan for each patient based on your understanding of the readings, videos and online learning modules.
• You may use the online readings and video during the examination. You may not ask your preceptor or other clinicians for help during the examination.
• Your assessments and plans should include all possible diagnoses, recommended treatments from the online readings and language that demonstrates your mastery of the Assess-Inform-Discuss-Decide model of shared decision-making.
• The exam is pass/fail. Your exam score will not effect your overall clerkship grade unless you fail the exam. The highest possible grade for students who fail the exam is a "Pass." The Family Medicine Clerkship does not offer re-examinations.

Preparing for the Exam
• Review the online articles, videos and learning modules and be familiar with the content of these resources.
• During week three of the clerkship, take the online practice examination.

1. To access the practice exam first, Log in with your UW Net ID to create a Moodle account if you have not already done so. You will be asked for minimal information including name and location. Doing this early in the clerkship will also help ensure that you will be able to login when it comes time to take the exam.
2. After creating your account, go to FAMED -> Predoc -> Clerkship -> Clerkship Quiz -> Practice SOAP Note OR simply click here. You must must complete step 1 and set up your Moodle account before attempting step 2.

Accessing The Exam

• The examination is administered online using the Moodle program. To access the practice examination and the exam on test day, you must do the following to create a Moodle account:

1. Students should click on the "Any Time Courses" link in the upper right margin of this page.

2. Enter your UW NetID and Password->Select Clerkship ->Select Clerkship Quiz ->Select "Family Medicine Clerkship Test: "Your rotation will be printed here"

   NOTE: If you had not yet reviewed the practice SOAP example you will be asked to register for the exam by answering the questions that have a red asterisk next to them. After registering, click on "FAMMED" at the top left corner of the screen, then click on "Clerkship", then select Family Medicine Clerkship Quiz: "Your rotation here"
