GENERAL INFORMATION

Twenty-eight residents, 14 faculty members, and a psychologist, as well as a variety of support personnel staff the Family Medicine Residency of Idaho (FMRI). The student spends the majority of time in the clinic and is included in as many in-office procedures as possible. Students help admit and care for a limited number of hospital patients. Obstetrics experience is available at this site, as well as the opportunity to visit other health care facilities in Boise. Students are expected to participate in several educational meetings. Given adequate advance notice, a one-week rural experience can be arranged. There are many excellent recreational opportunities in the Boise area including skiing, fishing, kayaking, bicycling, golf, and tennis.

Dr. Elizabeth Rulon, MD, site coordinator, and Kaye Holman, Administrative Coordinator, are responsible for the student coordination and handle the daily student rotation: please call either of them prior to your rotation to make preliminary arrangements. At least one faculty member or senior resident will always supervise the student. Either Dr. Rulon or Ms. Holman is your resource for any concerns you may have during the rotation.

Housing: Two-bedroom apartment which may be shared with another student. Need advance notice for children, but families welcome. No pets.

Transportation: A car is required at this site.
