SPOKANE VALLEY

SITE COORDINATOR: Michael Metcalf, MD

GENERAL INFORMATION

The Spokane Valley practice is staffed by five physicians and two family Nurse Practioners. The student will work with three MDs and one of the NP’s. The student has an opportunity to see the effectiveness and quality with which family medicine can be practiced in both a rural and an urban setting. Each physician has a full-time practice in Spokane and a part-time practice in near by, rural Fairfield, Washington. The physicians in this group have a broad spectrum of hospital privileges. Surgical and obstetrical skills are an important component of Associated Family Physicians practice. EMR will be used for all patient encounters. A brief orientation to Family Medicine Spokane is offered.

The faculty all graduated from Family Medicine Residency programs and they continue limited involvement with the Spokane Family Medicine Residency.
