Dr. Schneeweiss is involved in teaching the broad spectrum of clinical family medicine
with a particular interest in hypnosis and complementary and alternative therapies. He is
dedicated to ensuring that University of Washington medical students have a better
appreciation for the mind-body connection in illness and healing; a broader
understanding of alternative healing approaches; and insights on how to practice
Integrative Medicine in their future careers as physicians.
His main research interest is in educational interventions to achieve the teaching goals
noted above. In particular he is collaborating on pilot research about the outcomes of
mind-body training for stress reduction and the effectiveness of hypnosis in clinical
practice.
He is the PI of a NCCAM funded R25 educational grant that will end in June 2007. He is the PI of the UW subcontract on an NCCAM R25 education grant awarded to Testing the feasibility of using the N-of-1 methodology for investigating dietary
