Underserved Pathway students are expected to complete an average of two hours per quarter over his or her time in the Pathway. Depending on the service activities you select, you may complete the bulk of your hours in your preclinical years, or you may elect to spread out your hours across all four years. Service activities may be UW-based, but not necessarily. They may be clinical or other.
*Students entering in 2009 or later will be required to attend at least one Underserved Pathway event per quarter. All students are strongly encouraged to attend as many UP events as they are able.*
Some examples of UW-related service opportunities:
A student serving as a CHAP Coordinator for the Derm Clinic will complete a minimum of 7 hours per quarter.
A student volunteering for a CHAP Foot Care Clinic will complete an average of 2.5 hours per quarter.
You can track your community service hours by using your Pathway Tracker database to update your hours and experiences.
