Congratulations to Dr. Ivonne Beltran, winner of the Entering Class of 1978 Resident Innovation Award
We also took advantage of this in-person gathering to publicly announce that Dr. Ivonne Beltran is the winner of the Entering Class of 1978 Resident Innovation Award. This gift, donated by Andy Ury and Steve Tarnoff, seeks to recognize outstanding Family Medicine innovation in the past year by a resident in the Department of Family Medicine. We were thrilled to welcome Dr. Andy Ury to the Department Fair and Scholarship Forum on April 3rd to help present the award. The gift comes with a monetary award of $5000.
Dr. Beltran has been a true leader among residents. She is involved in multiple projects centering the needs of underserved, immigrant, and refugee populations’ OB care. She has also helped lead innovative changes to organize, document, and communicate prenatal care for patients at all levels of OB care training. Overall, she has been instrumental in centering residency work around equity and improving OB care. Dr. Beltran is tremendously deserving of this recognition.
