Family medicine was the perfect choice for me, there is no other specialty that cares for the entire family unit as a whole and combines relationships, medicine, and fun all in one.  I believe family medicine encompasses what we think of when we say “doctor” -- a person with comprehensive knowledge, who is compassionate, and cares for the person, not the disease. 

I particularly love the relationship between family physician to expectant mothers and eventually extending the relationship to children in the family.  It gives me the greatest joy to know my patients personally and to be a person they can trust with their health.
