- Residents enjoy autonomy with support, consultation with enthusiasm, mentoring with care from both community physicians and core faculty, and the opportunity to teach medical students on elective rotations
- Major annual initiatives, including low-cost physicals for high school athletes, Breast/Cervical and Prostate screening programs for the community, and Free Community Clinic for the underserved and homeless

The curriculum and Call schedule are structured to allow FMSW residents opportunity for personal reflection, relaxation and rejuvenation.
