Theme of symposium

The purpose of this multi-day symposium is to summarize the important contributions of neuroscience research using Gastropod Molluscs and to lay out ideas for future directions. 

Gastropods such as Aplysia, Clione, Helisoma, Helix, Hermissenda, Limax,Lymnaea, Melibe, Pleurobranchaea, and Tritonia have served as important model systems in neuroscience. In particular they have been used for studies on learning, memory, development, ion channels, signal transduction, and the neural basis of behavior.  This meeting will be an opportunity for researchers studying all aspects of gastropod neuroscience to gather and exchange ideas.
