FEEDBACK CONTROL OF COAXIAL ATOMIZATION BASED ON THE SPRAY LIQUID DISTRIBUTION

Demonstration of real-time feedback control of the structure of the spray produced by a two-fluid coaxial atomizer. The control parameters are the total gas flow rate and the ratio of angular to longitudinal component of the gas co-flow (through the "Main air' and "Swirl air" displayed on the top graph. The spray structure is analyzed through light absorption (second graph) and the goal absorption profile is described using the three main components of a proper orthogonal decomposition.
