4 Business Analytics Application Tips You Shouldn’t Miss

1. You are more than a number cruncher. Tell us a story.

Our ideal Master’s of Business Analytics applicant is a bit of a unicorn: someone equally adept at undertaking rigorous quantitative analyses and communicating their complex results to inform decision-making. We want people who are familiar and comfortable with numbers: we expect applicants to be comfortable with statistics, R, Python, Excel, and SQL. But, they also need to be able to translate the numbers into tangible insights that drive influence.

2. Sign up for the GRE or GMAT ASAP

The GMAT or GRE is probably the most challenging piece of the app to schedule in advance. Be sure to sign up for a GMAT or GRE test date early enough to ensure the test scores are sent at least two weeks before the application is due.

3. Don’t send us a first draft. Start your app early.

This seems like a no-brainer, but some application pieces may take time to complete. Don’t wait until the last minute to start. Do yourself a favor and send your first draft to a friend, not us. A fresh set of eyes can make all the difference!

4. Notify your references even earlier.

We require two recommendation letters in our application. Professional connections are preferred to academic or personal ones. Be sure to notify your references before you input them into the system so they are prepared. Enter their info into the system at least 2 weeks prior to the deadline.
