8 moments capturing the YEOC March international session
The theatre was filled with energy, passion, and excitement during our March YEOC session. This month’s session was in the planning stages months in advance by YEOC mentors Melat Abraham, Hewan Solomon, and Idowu Jeremiah.
The students began the day with two workshop rotations: the first was a ‘Speed Networking’ event with YEOC mentors and UW students who have studied abroad, and a panel discussion with staff and students from the Certificate of International Business (CISB) program. Sue Borgman, Principal of Transaction Advisory Services at EY was our keynote speaker who shared her story about growing up in South Africa and how she’s learned that hard work is the core of success. The widely anticipated 4th Annual Cultural Showcase where mentors, mentees, and members of the UW community could share their culture to inspire high school students, kicked-off with a spoken word performance by UW alum, Troy Osaki.
