Sustained Harvest Level
On commercial timberlands, the rate of harvest has been a controversial issue.
The methods used to harvest softwood timber stands in the PNW (i.e., clear cutting) also have been controversial.
Why? Negative side-effects (externalities) have been evident on other resources.
