Undergraduate Scholarship Opportunities

All students are encouraged to research scholarship opportunities through the Undergraduate Scholarship Office.

French/Italian-Specific Scholarship Opportunities

The National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) has an education budget of $1,000,000. The NIAF will award scholarships and grants to outstanding students for the 2007-2008 academic year. Scholarships are available for college undergraduates, graduate students, and medical students. For more information, eligibility criteria, and the application, please visit:

Deadline is March 1, 2007. Scholarships are for tuition and room and board, and cannot be used toward summer study.

Concordia Language Camp:

"At Lago del Bosco you can experience thematic-based learning for each proficiency level, explore regions, cuisine or modern art of Italy". In addition to their high school credit program and their two week camps (ages 7-17), in 2007 Lago del Bosco is offering one week sessions and a one week family session. NIAF Graduates to Leaders (G2L) Workshop in Law
May 20-22, 2007 in Washington, DC.

For Italian American law students: Topics will include public interest and advocacy law, statutory and administrative law, criminal law and business law among others. Institutional visits will involve the Supreme Court, Congress, the Judicial Department and some of the top firms in Washington. Deadline is Friday, March 16, 2007. For more information please visit:

NIAF Graduates to Leaders (G2L) Workshop in Communications
June 10-12, 2007 in New York City, New York.

For Italian American undergraduate and graduate students: Topics will include the impact of mass media on public opinion, ethics in reporting, current issues in publishing, new media journalism, and personal stories from today's most influential media personalities. Free ICoN Online Italian Language Course to be Awarded:

As part of the Toscani nel mondo project, the Consorzio fra Universita' Italiane (ICoN) is assigning 100 free annual awards to attend online Italian courses to people who meet the selection criteria. The licenses will be assigned to 50 students of Italian background and 50 students of Tuscan background that live abroad. The licenses can be used for the following courses: introductory Italian; intermediate Italian; advanced Italian and basic Italian for English speakers. The courses will be accessible for 12 months through internet, with technical assistance online. The application deadline is in mid February, 2007.
