Applying for a Teaching Assistantship in FIS

Students enrolled in graduate programs in the Division of French & Italian Studies receive priority consideration for Teaching Assistantships.

Graduate students from other departments may apply for Teaching Assistantships in French or Italian by submitting the following:

-Copy of online application for graduate study

-Teaching Assistantship and Fellowship Application (pdf format) http://www.grad.washington.edu/forms/asstappl.pdf

-Statement of purpose written in the target language

-CD or cassette recording of applicant reading statement aloud (no micro-cassettes, please)

-Academic writing sample in target language, if available

Graduate students in Linguistics or Comparative Literature may submit materials to your home department. They will be forwarded to the Division of French & Italian Studies once admissions decisions have been made.

Graduate students in other departments should send the above materials directly to the Division of French & Italian Studies no later than January 15th. Please send materials to:
