Dr. V.-Collins' dissertation, on the post-WWII French cinema of director Max Ophuls, examined the interplay between Ophuls' esthetics with the contamination of film by the Nazi propaganda apparatus. She coordinates French 200 and 300 level classes, and teaches film. She is also interested in language for business purposes, and has developed a French for Business class, which she teaches as part of the advanced grammar and composition series of classes at the 300 level.

Dr. V.-Collins is the director of the FIS study abroad Nantes program, and also teaches French 100, 200 and 300 as part of the English Department's Paris Program.
