Eligibility
Honors Program
admission eligibility requires a 3.7 average in French or Italian and
a 3.5 overall minimum GPA.
The Honors Program in French or Italian Studies provides eligible students
with a special academic experience above and beyond their major and prepares
them for eventual graduate work. With successful fulfillment of
the requirements, participants in the French and Italian Honors Program
receive their degree "With Distinction in French or Italian"
(while participants in the College Honors Program receive a baccalaureate
degree "With Honors" and must take an entire series of Honors
Courses; see the Honors
Office for COLLEGE HONORS).
Students admitted into the French or Italian Honors Program enjoy all
the rights and privileges of students in the College Honors Program, including
access to the Honors Lounge, receipt of the Honors Newsletter, and eligibility
for enrollment in special Honors courses and sections in other departments.
See your advisor for more details.
