Faculty & Staff Opportunities

Faculty Connections

Faculty Connections are one-time seminars specifically for new freshmen and transfer students to connect in a small group with a faculty member during the Dawg Daze program, before school starts. Faculty members who wish to help new students transition smoothly to the UW and become engaged in the academic community awaiting them on campus host faculty Connections.

Freshman Seminars

UW Faculty and Professional Staff are eligible to teach a Freshman Seminar during the Autumn, Winter and/or Spring Quarters. Freshman Seminars are 1-credit courses (GEN ST 197) and are graded credit/no-credit. For more information, email seminars@u.washington.edu or visit the Program webpage.

Located on more than 7 acres and containing more than 500 medicinal herbs, the UW's medicinal herb garden is the largest in the Western Hemisphere.
First Year Programs empowers entering students to become engaged and confident learners by facilitating supportive communities and creating educational experiences.
