EXTENDED FIG Leader Application Deadline
Friday, Feb. 8th by 5pm
Congratulations—you have come to the right place! The Freshman Interest Group (FIG) Program is committed to providing incoming students with the best possible transition to life at UW. Each year FIGs provide new freshman with the opportunity to take part in a learning community that enables them to learn valuable information about academics, and campus involvement, and valuable resources while meeting other new students at the same time! For over twenty years FIG Leaders have been the key to giving up to 70% of the incoming class this amazing opportunity. Every winter, we recruit current University of Washington undergraduates to become FIG Leaders. FIG Leaders work with First Year Programs staff to develop curriculum and activities for General Studies 199: The University Community, a class included in every FIG cluster and facilitated entirely by our peer instructors. This experience gives you the chance to earn course credit while enhancing skills that will assist you in future endeavors. In addition, you will take part in a program that has become a significant part of the UW student experience! This website will provide you with more information about the program, but feel free to contact us if you have any questions. |
