Brianna Johnston

I don't know anyone else who has a job where the co-workers are great, the supervisors are great, and the people we work with (the incoming students and their parents) are great. Basically, even though it was the most exhausting summer I've ever had, we had the best job at UW—how cool is that?

Doug McManaway

I loved working with students this summer. I found that not only did I reach out to so many new students and help them learn the ropes, but that they reached out to me and taught me more about myself than I had ever hoped to gain from this experience. My co-workers were an absolute blast and the relationships I forged with them are so much different than any other working relationships I've had before.

Alberto Orejel Malfavon

I loved the fact that everyday I was working with so many different people and having freshman asking me questions about the UW. It's also awesome because you can have so much fun with the freshmen. I acted like myself around them, and we had a blast!

Alex Fitch

Working as an orientation leader allowed me to a gain a new sense of pride in the UW. I now realize what a great institution the university is, and I am proud to call myself a DAWG!

At first I thought working as an orientation leader would be a simple nine to five summer job, however it ended up changing my life. I now have new career goals that have me working more closely with people like during the summer. Also, the friends I made while working for FYP are sure to last me a lifetime!

Armando Reyes

I loved being an Orientation Leader! I got to hang out with freshman all summer, eat all the free food I wanted, make a ton of new friends...and get paid for it all. It was awesome being able to reach out to so many people, and help them have the best college experience possible!

—Armando Reyes, Junior
