Lisa is a Genetic Counselor and Clinical Research Coordinator in the University of Washington Biochemical Genetics Clinic and Lysosomal Disease Treatment Center. She earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology and Molecular Biology at Concordia University, and her Masters degree in Genetics Counseling at McGill University, both in Montreal, Canada. She is certified by the Canadian Association of Genetic Counsellors, American Board of Genetic Counseling, and has been a practicing genetic counselor since 1999.

She currently manages approximately 30 patients with Gaucher disease and other lysosomal storage disorders, and also provides genetic counseling and care coordination for patients in the Biochemical Genetics Clinic. Lisa coordinates clinical trials in Gaucher disease and tyrosinemia type 1.

Lisa devotes a considerable amount of time caring for families whose children have been diagnosed through the Washington State Newborn Screening Program and she is very interested in expanding newborn screening.

Lisa also works with adolescents in the PKU Clinic, teaching the genetics of PKU, reproductive risks and promoting healthy lifestyle choices for teens.
