Thursday, 7/27 - Suggested problems for Chapter 15: 4,5,6,8,9,10. The CD-ROM movie on the lac operon is recommended for anyone that had trouble with today's material.

Mistakes on the answers that were handed out for problem set #2:

The ethics essay due Monday, 7/31 may be turned in on Tuesday, 8/1 because of exam #2.

Tuesday, 7/25 - Suggested problems chapter 12: solved I, II, 4, 6, 10, 17. Problem Set #2 answers were handed out today. Exam #2 will cover material through the end of today's lecture.

Extra office hours for the exam:

Monday, 7/24 - Suggested problems for Chapter 11: solved problem I; 11-7, 11-13. Problem Set 2 is due tomorrow. Hint: Problem #1 is a standard test that a geneticist does.

Thursday, 7/20 - Suggested problems for Chapter 14: solved problem III; 14-14, -19, -21, -22. On problem set #2, note that all mutants are G minus.

Wednesday, 7/19 - Suggested problems for Chapter 22: solved I, 3, 7. Reading p. 731-3, 737-42, not 742-8

Monday, 7/17 - Suggested problem for Chapter 10: 26. Additional reading p. 61-63. Problem Set #2 was handed out today and is due next Tuesday, 7/25.

Monday, 7/10 - Suggested problems from Chapter 6: 18,22,23,29

The first exam was handed back today. The highest score was 93, the lowest was 22. The mean was 64 and the median was 66. A copy of the key is posted outside the Genetics Office (J-205).

If you have not yet turned in an Ethics Essay for the first half of the course, the assignment due next Monday, 7/17 is your LAST chance.

Problem set #1 was handed out last Thursday, 6/22 and is due this Thursday 6/29 at the BEGINNING of class. NO late problem sets will be accepted.

We will only grade one of the problems from the problem set. Of course, you won't know which one it will be in advance,therefore you should do ALL of the problems.

Tuesday, 6/20 - The discussion sections will meet in HSB J-280, NOT Hitchcock 132 as it says in the time schedule.

There is a mistake in the dates on the syllabus. Week 8 starts on August 7, NOT August 8. Therefore, all dates should be shifted back by one day, making the last day of class (and the date of the last exam) Thursday, August 17, NOT August 18.
