Biology 201 and/or Genetics 371 (or their equivalents)

Outlines of the lecture material will usually be handed out before class to assist you in notetaking. Lectures will be videotaped and available for viewing the following day (usually) in the undergraduate library. The videos are meant to assist you if you must miss a class and are not an acceptable substitute for attending and participation in class discussion.

Textbook:

Principles of Genetics (and associated study guide) by D.P. Snustad, M.J. Simmons and J.B. Jenkins (1997). In addition to the text, readings from the scientific literature will be handed out in class. Study questions for practice will be assigned from the text, and/or be handed out with lecture outlines.

Examinations:

Grades will be based on the results of two midterms and a final.
