About Us

Genomics Outreach for Minorities

Our goal is to coordinate recruitment, retention, and training for underrepresented groups in the field of genomics.  This program builds upon existing campus resources, as well as the expertise of the scientists involved. The primary focus is on increasing the pipeline at the pre-graduate student level, while also recruiting and retaining graduate students to study genomics.  We are educating middle and high school students, and producing competitive bachelor’s degree students who we strongly encourage to pursue graduate school in genomic science.

Our Organization

The GenOM Project provides educational and research opportunities for underrepresented minority students interested in genomics. These programs target pre-college and undergraduate students.
