GenOM Project - Genomics Outreach for Minorities, University of Washington

"As an undergraduate researcher, I am learning things that I am so excited about. I finally get to use my education and put it to use. It isn’t just pictures and text in books anymore."

-Brittney McKenzie, GenOM ALVA 2008

The GenOM Project is funded primarily by the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) and in part by the Genentech Foundation and the UW Office of Research. The program provides educational and research opportunities as well as academic support for underrepresented minority students interested in genomics, bioengineering, and life sciences research at the University of Washington Seattle. We partner with the College of Engineering to support students interested in Clean Energy and Molecular and Materials research..
