Slum Survivors
Location: Allen Auditorium, Allen library Time: 3:30 to 5:00
Worldwide, more than a billion people live in slums, with as many as one million of them in the Kenyan slum of Kibera. Most of Kibera’s residents have to scrape a living outside the formal economy. Somehow they survive. SLUM SURVIVORS tells the stories of six people who live in Kibera and their remarkable courage in the face of extreme poverty (IRIN, humanitarian news and analysis).
