We would like to congratulate all of those undergraduates and graduates who are about to earn degrees in geography from the University of Washington! To commemorate their achievements, we will hold a recognition ceremony and reception for all students graduating between December 2013 and August 2014 on Thursday, June 12, from noon-2:15. The ceremony will take place in the Hogness Auditorium (Room A430) in the UW Medical Center, starting at noon (doors open at 11:30), and will include recognition of all graduating seniors and graduates and also special awards for both students and instructors. A reception with coffee, tea, and cookies will follow downstairs, in the Health Sciences Building Lobby.
We encourage you to bring family and friends to share the occasion. This is always a happy event because faculty and staff members have the chance to talk informally with seniors and their families, pay tribute to graduating seniors, and recognize outstanding academic performance in our awards ceremony. You will have a chance to express your thanks to family and friends during the ceremony, and there will also be an opportunity for some photographs with faculty. Dress will be business casual, but also feel free to wear cap and gown. For more instructions on how to get to the event, find directions in the official invitation.
Congratulations and best wishes to our graduating students!
