In times of heavy budget cuts, moving to solutions supported by the community at large has been a beneficial step, as we no longer need to maintain the costs of software updates solely for the website.  We are also fortunate enough to be running Featurific Pro to handle our static home page’s featured stories and news.  Thanks to the Featurific developers for kindly donating the professional license to our department!  This allowed us the opportunity to use our content management system in conjunction with the featured pages so that our staff can readily make changes to the site and home page without the  steep learning curve customarily associated with website management software.  The potential for academic/FOSS alliances is not only fiscal, but allows academia to come into direct conversation with the very people that build the tools we use.

The site’s design is in compliance with all known university policies.
