Business German: German 333,334

The series is designed for future professionals in business and administration who need to communicate in German. A command of the special terminology of business and trade is expected by many German firms abroad, foreign companies in Germany, and firms with business ties to German-speaking countries. Knowledge of a specialized German should give students a competitive edge in their careers.

German 333 will teach the students Professional German for individuals who need German for consulting with customers, presenting products, and making business contacts. This course prepares for the exam Zertifikat Deutsch für den Beruf [ZDfB], which can be taken during winter quarter.

German 334 will introduce the language of business and administration in preparation for the PWD, which can be taken in the spring of each year. The PWD is an exam in which the candidates have to prove ability to handle oral and written communication on the advanced level and to understand and discuss business and economic topics in suitable oral and written German.
