Specialized Gerontology Program
Apply for the 2009-2011 Specialized Gero Program by April 10, 2009!
The Specialized Gero Program provides faculty with the resources to develop, implement, and institutionalize gerontological competencies at the generalist and advanced levels of practice—as a minor, area of emphasis, certificate, specialization, or concentration.
Information Session: Attend our information session at the March 2009 BPD Conference: Friday, March 20, 5:00-6:00 pm, Room Remington A, followed by individual consultation/Q&A from 6:30 to 8:00 pm in the same room.
2009-2011 Specialized Gero Program Application Information
All CSWE-accredited BSW, MSW, and combined BSW/MSW programs that have gero content currently infused in foundation courses are eligible for the Specialized Gero Program. Review the Request for Proposals (RFP) below for additional details.

Administrative Statement of Support
Download and print. This form needs to be signed by the social work program’s chair/director/dean and mailed to the Gero-Ed Center. See the form for details.

Indirect Cost Letter

Geriatric Social Work Competency Rating Scale
Developed by the Hartford Partnership Program for Aging Education (HPPAE), formerly known as the New York Academy of Medicine Practicum Partnership Program (PPP), this is a useful resource for students to complete pre- and post-test ratings of their competency attainment, which is one way to measure outcomes.
