Overview and Rationale of Gero-Ed Institutes From 2004 to 2007, the Gero-Ed Center held 1-day Gero-Ed Institutes before the Annual Meetings of the Baccalaureate Program Directors (BPD) and the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). The Institutes were structured to provide individual faculty participants with teaching resources related to select gerontological issues and practical suggestions for infusing gerontological competencies into foundation courses and field learning experiences. Addressing the adult learner, Gero-Ed Institutes were taught by Gero-Ed Center Expert Trainers, who provided hands-on experiences revising course syllabi and using exercises, videos, case studies and other resources. As of 2007, the Gero-Ed Center no longer offers Gero-Ed Institutes. Visit our Programs Page for other opportunities, including eLearning. |
