Teaching Resources

The Gero-Ed Center serves as the primary source for quality gerontological competency-based curricular enrichment resources. The Center, in collaboration with the New York Academy of Medicine Practicum Partnership Program (PPP), has modified the competencies framework and evaluation, which was developed by the former CSWE Strengthening Aging and Gerontological Education for Social Work Project (SAGE-SW) and the first demonstration model of the PPP These revised competencies form the foundation of all Gero-Ed Center resources.

The faculty associated with the Cycle 1 Curriculum Development Institute (CDI) Program and former GeroRich Project developed syllabi and in-class teaching resources as a central part of their gerontology infusion efforts. The majority of teaching resources in this section are attributed to these prior curricular change projects along with the SAGE-SW Faculty Development Institutes. As the Gero-Ed Center implements new projects from 2007-12, curricular and teaching resources will be updated.
