This program is aimed at parents of toddlers and illustrates a variety of topics related to dental care. These include the first dental visit, fear of dentists, caring for primary teeth, teaching children good oral hygiene habits and nutrition. |

This program is designed for children ages 7-11 years old. It provides them with illustrations of how to take care of teeth and why it’s important. Vignettes topics range from plaque bacteria, tobacco, what happens at the dentist and brushing and flossing, to the harmful effects of sugar and learning to find information about hidden sugars in foods and drinks. |

The purpose of this program is to address important topics such as the link between oral and overall health, nutrition related to healthy teeth, maintaining one’s natural dentition throughout life, caring for prosthetic devices, and old wives tales that were brought up by focus groups participants. |

The main focus is on cultural competence issues such as building trust, respecting patients, patient education, communicating thru and interpreter, managing family dynamics, understanding diverse health beliefs, and treating patients on Medicaid. |
