A 33-year-old Ethiopian woman with a history of papular pruritic eruptions and seborrheic dermatitis is diagnosed with HIV infection at her primary health clinic. Additional laboratory studies reveal normal blood counts and renal panel. Her CD4 count is 310 cells/mm3 (18%). She has no other illnesses and is not pregnant.
