Marilyn and William Conner’s Story:
The Right Thing to Do
Advocates Marilyn and William Conner are among those who’ve made charitable IRA rollover gifts to UW Medicine.
Years of experience with illness among family and friends — cancer, heart disease, Alzheimer’s — sparked Marilyn and William Conner’s interest in stem cell research. “We thought stem cells could lead to treatments for those diseases,” Marilyn says.
Inspired to take action, the Conners created an endowed chair in stem cell medicine — an investment in UW Medicine’s faculty made possible, in part, by their IRA.
“Sharing seems like the right thing to do,” says Marilyn.
