Frequently Asked Questions
Northwest Hospital & Medical Center has a priority fund for employee giving, and there are other funds you can contribute to as well. If you’d like to learn more about them, we encourage you to talk to your department administrator — or you can contact Gloria Chien at UW Medicine Advancement: 206.543.5686 or email@example.com. Thank you for your interest!
It is an effort that encourages staff to make a donation to support Northwest Hospital & Medical Center. Other UW Medicine staff are included in this effort through a sister program: the UW Medicine Employee Giving program.
Every spring, we make a big push for contributions, especially payroll deduction pledges. This year, our “spring drive” for payroll extends from early May to June 7, 2018. Gifts and pledges of all sizes and types, however, are welcome after June 7 and throughout the year.
No, the programs are different. The University of Washington takes part in the Combined Fund Drive (CFD), a fundraising effort which reaches out to all Washington state employees. Gifts made through the CFD can be directed to other charities. The Northwest Hospital & Medical Center Employee Giving program and the UW Medicine Employee Giving program, on the other hand, are for our staff and providers only, and your gifts are directed only to our programs and funds. We encourage employees to give directly through our program to ensure that 100 percent of your gift goes to the area you wish to support and begins making an immediate impact. Giving directly to the Employee Giving program also allows us to recognize your gift.
There are no administrative fees; 100 percent of your gift supports projects and programs that you choose. You may direct your gift to any Northwest Hospital & Medical Center fund, including the priority fund, or any other area at UW Medicine.
Gifts of any size or type are welcomed and appreciated. Even a little bit means a lot — especially when the gifts are pooled together! We encourage you to look at the payroll deduction guide; it’s a convenient way to make an impact, starting at $1.92 per pay period.
Yes, 100 percent of your gift is tax deductible as allowed by law.
