KayCee Gardner, a fourth-year medical student, grew up on a ranch outside of Hammond, Mont., in the state’s southeast corner. Gardner is part of the UW School of Medicine’s TRUST (Targeted Rural/Underserved Track) program, which encourages students who are interested in practicing medicine in a rural or underserved area.
After she graduates from medical school, Gardner intends to pursue family medicine with a focus in rural medicine. She shared a few photos of her life as a medical student — and a few of her life on her family’s ranch.
