William and Marilyn Conner Professorship for the Institute for Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine
Est. 2007
The William and Marilyn Conner Professorship for the Institute for Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine was established in 2007.
William and Marilyn Conner have long been generous contributors to UW Medicine’s work as well as effective volunteer leaders. Mrs. Conner was one of the founding members of the UW School of Medicine Friends of Alzheimer’s Research, a volunteer group that raises money for and awareness of Alzheimer’s research. Mr. Conner was among the volunteers and leadership donors in creating the first endowed chair at UW Medicine.
In establishing the William and Marilyn Conner Professorship for the Institute for Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine, which will support the director of the institute, the Conners hope that the institute’s researchers will be well-supported in their work to develop therapies for many diseases — including diseases in which the Conners have a strong interest, such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes and dementia. Eventually, through the Conners’ generosity, the professorship will become a chair.
