The Endowed Chair in Pulmonary Disease Research was established by anonymous donors in 1999 to attract and retain distinguished faculty. The chair includes an emphasis on clinical research directed toward identifying new approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary diseases such as ARDS.
