Medic One Foundation Chair for Pre-hospital Emergency Care
Est. 1974
Founded in 1974, the Medic One Foundation provides the primary financial support for the research, paramedic training and medical review behind our region’s Medic One response system. Focusing on these three critical program areas, the foundation ensures that the care provided by our Medic One system is medically appropriate, employs the most up-to-date procedures and is performed by qualified personnel.
In 2002, the Medic One Foundation established the Medic One Foundation Chair for Pre-hospital Emergency Care. The chair’s purpose is to enable UW Medicine to attract and retain a distinguished faculty member whose research is focused on pre-hospital emergency care. The chair is held by the director of the University of Washington/Harborview Research and Training Center for Pre-hospital Emergency Care.
