The Medical Education and Research Endowed Professorship
Est. 2008
The Medical Education and Research Endowed Professorships were established under the auspices of the Medical Education and Research Endowed Chair (No. 2). The chair was created in 2008 to enhance the University of Washington’s ability to recruit and retain distinguished faculty.
The purpose of the professorships is broad, not restricted to one field, which allows for maximum flexibility in recruiting fine faculty from a variety of disciplines. The professorships are being used first to support faculty in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine.
