Washington Research Foundation Endowed Professorship in Bioengineering
Est. 2000
The Washington Research Foundation Endowed Professorship in Bioengineering was established in 2000 to enhance the University’s ability to attract and retain distinguished faculty in the Department of Bioengineering.
The Washington Research Foundation (WRF) is a private, non-profit organization. It was established in 1981 to help Washington state research institutions capture value from their emerging technologies.
Initially, WRF focused on patenting inventions and licensing them to companies. From licensing proceeds, the foundation established WRF Capital and the WRF Venture Center. Today, revenue generated from licensing and contributions from WRF Capital allow the foundation to support scholarships and research efforts at Washington state research institutions.
