Biography
Dr. Dichek received his M.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles. He completed an internal medicine residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and a cardiology fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital and the National Institutes of Health.
Dr. Dichek is a cardiologist, and he directs a research lab that investigates the molecular and cellular mechanisms through which blood vessels either become diseased or resist disease progression. His long-term research goal is to develop therapies that prevent or reverse human vascular diseases such as atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries that leads to heart attacks and strokes) and aneurysms (abnormal enlargement of arteries that can cause sudden death).
